Purchase a fossicking licence online

You can purchase your fossicking licence online using our secure payment gateway. Your licence will be emailed to you once payment is confirmed. Credit card is currently the only payment option.

For Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome users: Due to changes made to the security settings of the latest versions of Firefox and Chrome, purchasing a licence may not work in your browser. If you are having trouble, please try using Internet Explorer. We appreciate your patience and are working on a fix for this problem.

Follow the conditions on your licence and make sure you carry it on you at all times when fossicking. It is acceptable for you to show an inspector your licence on a mobile or tablet device. You can receive an on-the-spot fine or be prosecuted if you breach the provisions of your fossicking licence.

Licences can also be purchased from the nearest regional or district office or a fossicking licence agent.

If you are planning to camp in a fossicking area, you may also need a fossicking camping permit in addition to a fossicking licence.
