Unions are organisations that provide its members (i.e. employees) of a particular industry or occupation with safer and improved working conditions or rights, including:
- better job security, pay and entitlements through collective agreements
- assistance with unfair treatment (e.g. harassment and bullying)
- help with handling work related illness and injuries.
