Climate change
We are committed managing the impacts of climate change on our economy, communities, infrastructure and the environment in a responsible and cost-effective way.
We support climate adaptation measures, which focus on building community resilience, protecting our ecosystems and enhancing industry productivity.
Our work to build community resilience includes:
- helping coastal communities to better prepare for rising sea levels, storm tide and erosion—for example, the Townsville Coastal Hazard Adaptation Strategy Pilot Project
- providing climate data on rainfall levels, and weather patterns to support long-term agricultural productivity
- providing projected changes in temperature, rainfall and weather patterns for specific regions.
These measures will add to ongoing work on climate variability, climate changes, and extreme weather.
