Programmed vehicle inspections in some areas may be suspended due to COVID-19. However, the requirement to hold a current certificate of inspection has not changed. If inspections are suspended in your area and your certificate is due to expire before inspections resume, you will need an extension of time to drive legally.
Western Queensland inspection suspension
Due to COVID-19, programmed vehicle inspections in Western Queensland are temporarily suspended until 1 September 2020, in the interest of community health and safety.
This change in service delivery is in line with Queensland Health guidelines and advice.
Existing bookings in Western Queensland
If you have an existing booking scheduled before 1 September at any of the following Western Queensland locations, we will contact you to cancel your booking and issue an extension of time:
- Julia Creek
- Mount Isa
- St George
Customers in Western Queensland without an existing booking
If you have a certificate of inspection expiring before 1 September 2020 and are unable to book an inspection at a site near you, you may be able to request an extension of time by emailing your request to email@example.com. Please include:
- your full name
- details of the registrations requiring extension
- your contact phone number.
