Fundraise through an existing charity

The quickest and easiest way to start fundraising legally is to partner with an existing charity. For example, you might want to fundraise to help a person meet the costs of a medical condition.

You must:

  • have written authority from the charity to conduct the fundraiser
  • comply with any conditions they set
  • use the charity’s name when fundraising
  • deposit all fundraising proceeds into the charity’s account.

The charity must:

  • be responsible for all fundraising activities
  • distribute the proceeds from the fundraising
  • include the income and expenditure as part of their financial accounts.
