Blue card check
When you apply for a blue card, we check information from a range of sources.
This is called assessable information.
Assessable information may include:
- charges or convictions for offences in Australia, even if no conviction was recorded. The includes spent convictions, pending charges and non-conviction charges.
- some orders, reporting obligations or applications under the
- Child Protection (Offender Reporting
- Offender Prohibition Order) Act 2004
- Dangerous Prisoners (Sexual Offenders) Act 2003.
- court orders that stop a person from applying for or holding a blue card
- disciplinary information from some organisations. This includes information about
- teachers
child care licensees - foster carers
- disability workers.
- teachers
- domestic and family violence information. This includes
- domestic violence orders
- police protection notices
- police protection directions.
- interstate working with children check information.
- police investigation information about alleged serious child-related sexual offences. Even if no charges were laid.
- other information that may show a risk to children. This includes information applicants must disclose, such as child protection information.
