What you should know
The information you are provided by the QCS Victims Register is confidential and must not be shared publicly unless it is for safety planning.
You will be provided with information about the offender’s sentence, release date, parole eligibility, parole applications and outcomes, and other relevant updates.
Your information on the QCS Victims' Register is confidential. The offender you register against won’t be told that you have applied or been registered.
You can change your mind at any time and be removed from the QCS Victims' Register or you can nominate someone else to receive information on your behalf.
Your registration will end when the offender you are registered against is no longer under QCS supervision. If you are registered against a homicide offender your registration will remain open, although the information the QCS Victims' Register can provide may be limited if the offender is no longer under QCS supervision.
The QCS Victims' Register will notify you when a prisoner you are registered against applies for parole. You have the right to make a submission to the Parole Board Queensland to voice your concerns. You will be sent the submission form and you'll have 21 days to return the form. You can request more time if needed.

Interstate applicants
If the offender you’ve registered against moves to another state or territory, you may be eligible to register on the Victims Register in that location.

Who can use this service
You can register as a victim on the QCS Victims' Register if you:
- are the victim of a violent or sexual offence
- are the immediate family of a deceased victim of a violent or sexual offence
- are the parent or guardian of a victim who is under 18 or has impaired capacity
- your life or physical safety is at risk due to a history of violence, including domestic violence by the offender
- are a witness or have a connection to the offence that puts your life or safety in danger
- are re-registering.
Don't use this service if:
- the offender is not yet sentenced for the offence
- the offender was sentenced to a community-based order (i.e Probation Order)
- the offender is not in a Queensland prison or under QCS supervision on a relevant order.
How to register as a victim on the QCS Victims' Register

Step 1: Complete the application form

Download and complete the nominee form only if you would like someone else to receive information on your behalf.
Step 2: Gather offender information
Gather the offender’s name and date of birth.

Step 3: Agree to the declaration and privacy information
Check the box.
Step 4: Upload your documents
Upload a copy of your identification. This can be your:
- driver licence
- passport
- photo identification.
The documents do not need to be certified.

Step 5: Receive confirmation you are on the register
You’ll be notified once your name has been added to the register.

Step 2: Call QCS Victims Register
Phone: 1800 098 098 (within Australia) or +61 7 3565 7470 (International) Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm.
Provide your details over the phone.
VR staff will provide you with the declaration to sign and the nominee form if required. You will be required to provide proof of your identity for the registration to progress.
Step 3: Provide your documents

- driver licence
- passport
- photo identification.

How long it takes
Processing time begins when a completed application is received.
Once your application is approved, you (or your nominee) will be notified and provided with your unique reference number.
Standard applications: up to 10 business days
Urgent applications: with 2 business days
How much it costs
There is no cost to register as a victim of an adult offender.
