Report an illegal residential service

Operating an unregistered boarding house or rooming accommodation is illegal. Under the Residential Services (Accreditation) Act 2002 operators must meet certain requirements.

Penalties can apply for operators who don't meet the requirements.

If you suspect there is an illegal boarding house or rooming accommodation in your area, report it to us.

Before you contact us, visit:

• Find registered accommodation
• public register of registered residential services in Queensland.

This will tell you:

• if the accommodation is registered
• the maximum number of residents allowed to occupy the premises.
