South East Queensland

Have your say on water restriction targets

You can now have your say on the Queensland Government’s proposed changes to the expected duration of water restrictions in South East Queensland. Consultation closes 9 July 2021.

In South East Queensland (SEQ) there are currently residential or business water restrictions for the following council areas:

There are no residential or business water restrictions for: Brisbane City Council, City of Gold Coast, Ipswich City Council, Lockyer Valley Regional Council, Logan City Council, Moreton Bay Regional Council, Noosa Council, Redland City Council, Somerset Regional Council, Sunshine Coast Council.

The last remaining water restrictions in these council areas were lifted on 1 January 2013.

You can water your garden on any day and at any time. However:

  • bear in mind you still have to pay for the water you use
  • please use water efficiently: it's our most precious resource.

Outside South East Queensland
