Find an approved kindergarten program

To find an approved kindergarten program contact your local childcare service and ask whether they offer a Queensland Government-approved kindergarten program.

If you live in a rural or isolated community and can’t get to a service regularly, or your child has a medical condition that prevents regular attendance at a service, you may be eligible to enrol your child in eKindy—a distance education program.

Remote kindergarten pilot

The delivery of a kindergarten program as part of a composite class of Prep and other lower primary aged children is being trialled in small, remote communities without centre-based kindergarten programs.

The Remote Kindergarten Pilot commenced in Term 2 2016 in 11 remote state schools. In 2017 the Pilot was expanded and is now enabling a kindergarten program to be delivered in 38 eligible remote state schools. Read more about which schools are involved in the program
