Extend your training contract

If you won't complete your training by the original date set out in your training contract, called the 'nominal completion date', you'll need to apply for an extension.

Steps to extend your training contract

  1. Discuss the extension with your employer and training organisation to find out how much more time is needed.
  2. Give reasons for the extension and negotiate a new completion date.
  3. Notify your Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) provider, using Form ATF-014.
  1. Make sure all parties sign the form—you, your employer, training organisation and your parent/guardian if necessary.
