Getting involved in the arts
The arts can be used to express emotions and creativity, to demonstrate a particular message, and/or for entertainment and fun. The Queensland Government supports arts and culture by investing through Arts Queensland. The Queensland’s Time to Shine strategy for arts and culture outlines our vision for a strong creative sector supporting a statewide vibrant arts scene.
Queensland organisations
Many Queensland arts and cultural organisations are expanding access through initiatives such as Auslan interpretation, audio description and sensory-friendly or neurodivergent-friendly sessions.
The organisations listed below focus on hands-on experiences, supporting participants to develop skills, collaborate with others, and create and present their own work.
National organisations
Arts Access Australia is a national body that works with other organisations across Australia to help people with disability access and participate in the arts.
