National mediator accreditation

National Mediator Accreditation provides external recognition of your skills. It is based on the National Mediator Accreditation Standards which were introduced to improve the quality of mediation services nationally.

While accreditation is voluntary, employers and clients are increasingly seeking accredited mediators.

How to achieve national mediator accreditation

To achieve national mediator accreditation, you are required to meet the training requirements by successfully completing:

  • Mediation Level 1—Introduction to mediation skills (or equivalent training through another RMAB)
  • Mediation Level 2—Development of mediation skills, which includes the National Mediator Accreditation assessment.

To ensure you are eligible to be re-accredited after 2 years, you will need to continually meet the Practice Standards and Approval Standards.

The fee for 2 years’ accreditation is $100.
