Proposal
Create and give a name to a new locality of Keswick Island.
Local government
Mackay Regional
Additional information
This proposal aims to resolve residents' issues with obtaining valid addresses. Currently Keswick Island does not have an official locality. Localities – often known as suburbs – are administrative boundaries that are essential for the creation of valid addresses that can be uniquely and clearly identified.
Discontinue the locality names of North Talwood and South Talwood to create and give a name to the new locality of Talwood.
Local government
Goondiwindi Regional
Additional information
This proposal is aiming to address community concerns with addressing, postal deliveries and navigational and way-finding issues due to there being two separate localities.
Minor amendments to locality and suburb boundaries
Decisions listed below have been made in accordance with provisions of the Place Names Act 1994. Section 10 of the Act dispenses with the publication of a proposal if the action is unlikely to be of significant community interest, is of a minor or technical nature, or has already been subject to public consultation. Therefore, these decisions are effective from the date decided.
