About the program

The Queensland Indigenous Youth Leadership Program (QIYLP) is an opportunity for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples aged 18–25 living in Queensland to:

  • grow and strengthen leadership skills and capabilities
  • connect with other young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders
  • learn from First Nations leaders and mentors
  • gain tools and confidence to drive positive change in their communities.

The 7-day residential program will be held in Meanjin (Brisbane) from 5 to 11 December 2026.

QIYLP is more than just a residential experience; participants receive opportunities for learning, networking and personal development, with support before and after the program.

We encourage eligible applicants from across Queensland to apply, including those from regional and remote communities.
