Maryborough%20Correctional%20Centre

Maryborough Correctional Centre, located about seven kilometres north of Maryborough, is a multi-purpose, secure custody facility, that provides secure and residential accommodation.

The centre is also a remand and reception centre for offenders from Bundaberg to Gympie and accommodates protection prisoners.

The centre has four industry workshops - two metal fabrication workshops, one timber processing workshop and a textile workshop. These workshops not only provide employment for prisoners but also the fabrication of products for businesses and community organisations.

The centre also has a range of programs and educational courses designed to assist prisoners with their rehabilitation and reintegration.

Contact visits may include a maximum of three (3) persons including children. Only visitors booked prior to the visit will be permitted to attend the sessions. Contact visits are subject to the approval by the General Manager following a criminal history check. Visitors are subject to non-contact or virtual visits pending this approval, which may take up to 6 weeks.

Please arrive at the centre at least one hour before the visit is due to start.

Applications to visit (either in person or virtual) must have a Form 27 submitted and approved. The completed forms may be forwarded by mail to the address above or by email to: MCCVisits@corrections.qld.gov.au

Alternatively, you can book online at MCC Online Visit Booking from 7.30am on Saturday for the following week.

Booking requests will be processed in order of date and time received. For bookings received via the Online Portal, a confirmation email will be sent to the primary person confirming the date/time of the visit booking by close of business the day before the visit/virtual visit.

Transport

A bus service is available for visitors to the Maryborough Correctional Centre. There is no charge to visitors for this service.

More information

There are three methods of depositing money into prisoner trust accounts:

  1. Cash deposit at visits processing in person. When attending the visits processing centre, cash may be presented for deposit into a prisoner’s trust account at any centre. Please note cash is unable to be accepted by mail.

  2. Electronic funds transfer (Secure Payment Services). Go to www.secure-payment-services.com.au when applying, you will need the prisoner’s IOMS identification number. If you do not know the IOMS number, you can request this by emailing StatewideOperationsCommunications@Corrections.qld.gov.au Funds are transferred into the prisoner’s trust account the next business day.   3. Money orders can be purchased from Australia Post. Please note, Australia Post fees apply. All Money Orders take 9 days to clear into prisoner trust accounts.

Visitors are no longer required to wear a face mask. A visitor may be directed to wear a face mask where they display cold or flu like symptoms. Visiting restrictions remain in place if a visitor is a COVID diagnosed person or COVID close contact.
