Applying for financial help to attend a Crime and Corruption Commission hearing
We may be able to help you financially if you have to appear as a witness at a Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) hearing and can’t afford a lawyer. The Attorney-General makes the decision to approve financial help.
To help the Attorney-General decide if you qualify for financial assistance, you must complete the financial help for legal services application form.
It is important that you:
- fill in the form with as much information as you can
- answer every question.
If we need to get extra information from you, your application may take longer.
Documents you need to provide
To support your application, you must provide us with copies of::
- your Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care card or 3 recent payslips
- your most recent bank statement (or statements if you have more than one account)
- the bank statements or payslips of any partner or family member who shares living expenses with you
- a copy of your CCC investigation attendance notice.
We can’t consider your application without these documents.
How to apply
To apply for financial help, you must:
- Answer every question on the application form.
- Get your solicitor to witness you sign and date the statutory declaration on page 6.
- Get your solicitor to sign the solicitors' certificate on page 6.
- Get your solicitor to submit your application form and supporting documents.

Your solicitor can email a scanned copy of your completed form to legal.services@justice.qld.gov.au.
How long will it take for us to make a decision?
If your application has been completed correctly and we don’t need any more information, we will notify you of our decision within 2 or 3 weeks.
There is no guarantee that we will make a decision about your application before your hearing.
