Court date

Once you have lodged this application, you will be given a date to appear in court (usually in a few weeks).

Serving the application

Once you have lodged your application to change your domestic violence order, the police will give (or serve) a copy to the aggrieved and/or respondent. So, if you are the aggrieved on the current order, the police will serve the respondent with a copy of your application. If you are the respondent on the current order, the police will serve the application on the aggrieved and any named person on the order.

If someone else applied for the protection order on behalf of the aggrieved, they will also be given a copy of your application.

A relative or associate named on the order may also be given a copy of the application.
