Queensland Government investment supporting vulnerable Queenslanders

Doors to The Everyday Foundation’s expanded low-cost food outlet in Nambour have been officially opened, thanks to a $1 million investment from the Queensland Government.

The food outlet on Currie Street will ensure vulnerable Sunshine Coast locals have cost of living relief they can rely on.

Everyday Foundation Director Jonathan Gullo said the opening of the expanded new centre in Nambour was only the beginning of the Foundation’s next chapter on the Sunshine Coast.

“The Everyday Foundation has been serving this community for more than 20 years, and this building means we finally have the room to grow alongside the increasing need for food relief on the Sunshine Coast,” Mr Gullo said.

“We would like to thank the Queensland Government for their generous $1 million contribution to this project.

“It's an investment that will support this community for decades to come.”

This expansion supports the Foundation’s service to the region, with more than 45,000 customer visits to the food outlet in the past year, 33,000 free meals being distributed, and almost 3,000 people supported by the Foundation’s Emergency Relief program.

The Queensland Government is delivering real outcomes for all Queenslanders, with the 2026-27 Budget providing an ongoing cost of living relief package including the Back to School Boost, Play On! sports vouchers, freeze of bulk water prices and the Energy Roadmap Price Drop.

This is in addition to the $20 million annual investment through the Social Entrepreneurs Fund to achieve better outcomes for vulnerable Queenslanders.
