The rangers at Aak Puul Ngantum maintain and conserve the environmental diversity of the area.
Some recent achievements include:
- controlled burns conducted across an extensive area of country
- fauna surveys
- development of a fire management plan, which includes training and on-ground activities
- visits to Aurukun School as part of the Junior Ranger Program
- feral animal aerial surveys and eradication of 1100 feral pigs in 2015 by aerial shooting
- turtle nest monitoring.
