Choose apprenticeship or traineeship

Once you've narrowed down your industry and career choices, search for related apprenticeships or traineeships on the Queensland Training Information Service (QTIS) website:

QTIS provides details on individual apprenticeships and traineeships such as job summaries, special requirements, length, qualifications and funding amounts.

Use pre-vocational courses

By choosing a pre-vocational or pre-apprenticeship course, you can get a 'taste' before committing to a full apprenticeship.

A pre-apprenticeship is entry level training which can lead to an apprenticeship. It's usually offered in electrical, plumbing and automotive trades.

Choose the type of apprenticeship or traineeship

Once you've decided on your apprenticeship or traineeship, you'll also need to choose whether you want to do it full-time, part-time or based at school.
