BoysTown has developed a purpose built facility for young families that incorporates training rooms and children's rooms within a natural setting. The Children's Centre is a child friendly space with associated indoor and outdoor play and resource areas that encourage a full range of play and interaction opportunities. This Centre meets the needs of newborn, very young infants and active toddlers. The program offers parents opportunities to develop new skills through: ?having some fun and enjoying the company of other young families ?sharing ideas and experiences ?specialist counselling for young children ?organised activities for parents and their children ?workshops about parenting - child development, bonding and play ?workshops on life skills - healthy eating, budgeting, self care, healthy relationships, communication, cooking and craft ?personal support, both on site and through outreach ?continuing education for early school leavers ?linking into community activities, and ?accessing a range of health and other professional and community services.
