Support Groups Queensland is a not for profit community organisation comprising a network of self help and support groups in Queensland. The groups include participants with a broad range of health conditions and well being issues eg genetic conditions, chronic illness, mental health, disability, grief and loss, sexual health and many more. Since its foundation in 1983, the organisation has evolved its focus and activities to reflect the wishes of its members, and has also undergone three name changes. SGQ supports people finding their own solutions to individual, group and community well-being challenges. It undertakes activities which assist in developing, promoting and sustaining the self help sector in Queensland.
