Services
Support service offering programs to assist rural families. This service offers: Brief counselling/support of families; provision of advice and referral to other agencies; crisis intervention; reduction of social isolation by opening up opportunities for people to meet, socialize and assist each other; advocacy on behalf of individuals, families and communities; practical assistance. The focus is on addressing issues of safety and strengthening families, including parent education, information, counselling and appropriate referrals. The NQ Rural Family Support Service has one full time Coordinator and a part-time Resource Officer and covers the Flinders, Richmond and McKinley Shires.
