Mission Australia - Offender Reintegration Support Service Women's support service

Services

The Offender Reintegration Support Service (ORSS) supports people transitioning out of custody and back into the community. Mission Australia Transitions Coordinators work in correctional centres in South East Queensland, the Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay to identify people who might benefit from the service. ORSS begins working with people up to nine months before their release and can continue supporting them up to six months afterwards. This support includes assisting people to: Identify housing options Apply for parole and meet their parole obligations on release Access Centrelink, food and clothing Liaise with employment agencies Make contact with relevant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander services Access drug and alcohol support, mental health, education and counselling services. Mission Australia manages the ORSS program at: -Brisbane Correctional Centre Brisbane Women's -Correctional Centre Darling Downs Correctional Centre -Helena Jones Correctional Centre -Maryborough Correctional Centre -Numinbah Correctional Centre -Palin Creek Correctional Centre Southern -Queensland Correctional Centre -Wolston Correctional Centre Woodford.
