The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) maintains and updates the Commonwealth electoral roll - a list of eligible citizens who are registered to vote in Australian elections. All States and Territories have joint roll agreements with the AEC. Electors only need to complete one form to enrol for Federal, State and local government elections.
