Traineeships

We also offer traineeships each year, providing nationally accredited qualifications and practical work experience.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment

We are committed to increasing the number of indigenous employees within the Queensland Public Sector by 2013.

As part of this, we will:

  • advertise vacancies in indigenous media such as the Koori Mail
  • provide traineeships for indigenous people
  • provide work experience opportunities to indigenous people
  • assist with applications and interviews
  • support indigenous employees at work
  • consult with indigenous people within the department and in local communities
  • recognise the need to grant leave to indigenous employees for cultural reasons.
