Celebrate Queensland
Each year we host Queensland Week to celebrate Queensland's official separation from New South Wales.
On 6 June 1859, Queen Victoria signed the Letters Patent, authorising Queensland's separation, and confirming its status as an independent colony. This day—6 June—is now known as Queensland Day.
