Apply for The Duke of Ed

Starting The Duke of Ed

Before you apply

  • Find an Award Centre:
    • Check if your school or local youth organisation is an Award Centre. If they are, you can sign up with them straight away.
    • If you can’t find an Award Centre near you, contact the Queensland Award Operating Authority for help.
  • Choose your Award level—Bronze, Silver or Gold—make sure you meet the age requirements and allow enough time to complete the Award before you turn 25.

How to apply

  1. Read the Award insurance.
  2. Register as a new participant on the Online Record Book (ORB), using your full legal name.
  3. Once the online registration is complete, you will receive an email with an activation link to confirm your email address. You will need to verify your email for your registration to progress to your Award Leader to accept.
  4. If you are under 18 years of age, you will be prompted to choose a parental consent option and to download a parental consent form. Follow the instructions on the form to complete this and return it to your Award Leader with your registration fee.

What happens next?

Once your Award Leader has accepted your ORB access, you can then start doing your Award.
