Completing the Bridge Award

Once you receive your record book, you can start working towards your Award. The record book provides much of the information you will need to know to complete your Award.

The basic steps are:

  1. Choose your activities for each section—check out the list of Award Activity Ideas (PDF, 226.3 KB) or (RTF, 7.4 MB) to get ideas or talk to your Award Leader or parent for advice.
  2. Find your assessors—ask your Award Leader to help you find a suitable assessor for each of your activities.
  3. Do your activities—after your Award Leader has approved your activities, you can start working towards your Award. You can do more than one section at a time.
  4. Fill in your record book—make sure the relevant Assessor signs and dates your record book when you have completed an activity.
  5. Get your Award approved—give your record book to your Award Leader to approve.
  6. Receive your Award—the Queensland Award Operating Authority will send you a letter and you will get your certificate and badge. You can choose one of the following ways to receive your certificate and badge:
    • your Award Leader can present them to you
    • you can attend an award presentation (contact your Award Centre for details)
    • you can have them sent to you.

What happens next?

  1. If you've finished Level 1, you can start Level 2:
  2. If you're 14 to 24 years old, you can start The Duke of Ed.
