TMR continues our commitment to natural disaster recovery

The Recording Asset Damage and Restoration (RADAR) app has changed the way Transport and Main Roads gathers damage information and responds to natural disasters.

RADAR is a cloud-based app that allows TMR to take damage photos with GPS data and record information on a simple site form. Users upload photos and other information about the damage and RADAR automatically tags the location. This allows us to collaboratively gather and share the information in order to better plan response and recovery activities.

RADAR is designed for use by trained personnel engaged by TMR and has approximately 550 registered mobile users across 75 organisations, including 48 local councils. More than 65,000 images have been uploaded since Severe Tropical Cyclone Debbie in March 2017.
