The Queensland Government is now in caretaker mode until after the state election. Minimal updates will be made to this site until after the election results are declared.

Let’s bike Queensland!

Communities across Queensland will benefit from the new Queensland Cycling Strategy 2017-2027 launched today as part of Road Safety Week. The strategy sets the direction for cycling over the next 10 years and is accompanied by a 2-year fully funded action plan.

To ensure cyclists are supported by good planning and investment, we are investing $182.5 million into high-quality cycle infrastructure across Queensland between 2017-18 and 2020-21.

A state of cycling report will be published every 2 years to track our progress towards achieving our vision of more cycling, more often.

To celebrate the release of the new strategy, we are calling on Queenslanders to help showcase the benefits of riding a bike in Queensland. By entering the #IBIKEQLD competition, you could win a free bike valued at $1,000 by sharing your favourite cycling photo on Facebook or Instagram and tagging #IBIKEQLD.
