All they want for Christmas is you
Are you on the hunt for presents for your friends and family this festive season? Give the best possible gift this season – yourself – by buckling up and driving safely.
Shockingly, around 1 in 4 people killed in vehicles on Queensland roads weren’t wearing seatbelts. 8% of Queenslanders do not always wear seatbelts and they are greatly over-represented in fatal road crashes.
The Queensland Government is running a new StreetSmarts road safety campaign, 'All they want for Christmas is you', urging everyone to buckle up during the summer holiday period.
The campaign is the first outcome of the 'Seatbelts: Let's make it click' forum held in Townsville in late August as part of Queensland Road Safety Week.
The first phase of the campaign will run on radio, billboards and social media until Christmas.
Remember that you're not just hurting yourself if you don't wear a seatbelt. Your friends and family want you to be safe and be there for them. Wearing your seatbelt improves your chances of surviving a crash by 200%. So buckle up every trip, every time, for your loved ones.
