Coast Club—School holiday adventure activities

School holiday fun at Coast Club

Coast Club has been extended for a further 2 weeks due to the delayed Queensland School start date for Term 1 2022. Both centres will run the same program with half and full day session options. To ensure everyone’s safety, all activities will be run outdoors and participants will need to BYO food for a 10% discount. Aerial Adventure Coast Club sessions (8+), rock climbing and pools are open. Activities running Monday to Saturday for 5+ at both centres!

Get the kids up and active at the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast Recreation Centres during the school holidays. We run daily activity sessions packed with exciting, challenging and safe activities. Sessions are delivered by experienced and friendly staff members and are perfect for kids aged 8 and over.

Our indoor rock climbing centres and pools are also open extended hours during school holidays if you want to squeeze in some extra adventure, and our Family Escapes offer affordable beach-side accommodation.

Frequently asked questions

Our Coast Club sessions include some of the Queensland Recreation Centres most popular adventure activities, delivered by friendly and professional instructors.

Participants will receive a safety briefing and instructions at the start of the session, before the instructor then leads the group through the activity.

In some sessions, adventurers will be broken into groups to rotate between two or three activities. Our staff make sure that each participant enjoys a safe, fun and memorable experience.

All adventurers must bring:

  • hat and sunscreen
  • water bottle
  • comfy, fitted clothes
  • enclosed shoes
  • a healthy snack (no nut products).

For activities that involve water (like surfing, canoeing or stand up paddle boarding), you should also bring:

  • swimwear and towel
  • wet shoes or spare shoes
  • spare clothing.

Parents will be required to:

  • complete and sign an activity release form for each child who is participating
  • pay for your session (if you have not done so over the phone)
  • advise the team of any medications your child may need
  • let the team know if a different adult will be picking your child up at the end of the session.

Sessions start at exactly 9am. Please allow enough time to park and head to the centre’s reception. We can accept drop offs half an hour before the start of the program.

Pick up from reception is between 12-12:30pm for morning sessions, and from 3:30-4pm at the end of the day.

Parents/Guardians must provide Photo ID for pick up and sign-out their child at reception. Please notify our staff of any changes so we can help ensure everyone’s safety.

Children will have access to bathrooms and changing facilities before and after activities. Multiple handwashing and hand sanitizer stations are also available across the site, as well as water filling stations.

Lunch is available for full-day session participants.

Our caterers provide a healthy meal of wraps or sandwiches accompanied by fruit and water.

In cases where the scheduled activities for the day are no longer possible (e.g. bad weather, rough surf, large group numbers), our team members may decide to change the activities to ensure a safer environment for everyone. This usually includes indoor activities like Evasion Games and Archery.

Children must be 8 years or older to participate in Coast Club activities, no exceptions are allowed. Rock Climbing is available at both centres for children 5 years and older.

Parents are welcome to participate in the program with their child. However, adults without children can contact their preferred centre to book a group activity.
