National occupational licensing

The proposed National Occupational Licensing System (NOLS) is no longer being pursued.

Proposed reforms

National licensing was intended to harmonise licensing regulation between states and territories for a range of occupations, including property agents.

The Council of Australian Governments (COAG) decided to discontinue the proposed reform in December 2013.

Visit the COAG and CAF websites to keep updated on any developments.

Community consultation

The details of the proposed national licensing reforms were released in July–September 2012 for public consultation.

Consultation closed on 12 October 2012.
