Apply for a registry committal
You can use this form to apply for a registry committal if the matter is listed in the Brisbane Magistrates Court and the parties agree to the charge(s) being committed for sentencing or trial.
Only the defence lawyer can complete this form.
A registry committal can be used if the defendant:
- is being committed on indictable offences (not summary offences)
- is legally represented
- if on bail, is not in breach of any bail condition
- hasn’t been referred to a specialist court or programme
- doesn’t intend to give evidence or call witnesses.
Any charges that don’t meet these conditions can’t be included in the registry committal.
To complete this form, you’ll need the court file number or bench charge sheet number and details of the relevant charge(s)—you can find these on the Verdict and Judgement Record (VJR).
