Planned maintenance and upgrades

Information for Queensland public housing tenants

Planned maintenance

Planned maintenance includes repainting, replacing leaky gutters or rusted downpipes.

We schedule these items for maintenance as part of a planned program.

You can report these items to us or we can note them during your next property inspection.

Read more about who is responsible for property maintenance.

Painting

We carry out painting according to a planned program, based on when we expect homes to need this maintenance.

To find out when your home will be painted, contact your nearest Housing Service Centre.

There is a colour list that you can choose from. Discuss the colours you like with the inspecting officer when they visit your property.

You can also request approval to repaint the inside of the home at your own cost.

General upgrades

General upgrade work happens when areas of your home (e.g., kitchen, bathroom, laundry) reach the end of their useful life.

If you think your bathroom, kitchen or laundry needs upgrading, contact maintenance to arrange an inspection.
