Your sexual health

Seeing a healthcare provider in person is the best way to receive a comprehensive sexual health check and treatment. If untreated, chlamydia and gonorrhoea can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease, fertility problems and other complications. If you have symptoms it is best to make an appointment at a health service as soon as possible.

It is very important you understand it is your responsibility to go to a GP or sexual health clinic to get treated if your chlamydia and gonorrhoea Webtest result is positive.

Completing the order form

To order a test you will need to check your eligibility, answer 4 STI risk factor questions and provide your contact details. This process will take around 5 minutes. Please make sure you have enough time and privacy to complete the form. If you exit before finishing the form, you will need to start again.

Getting tested is voluntary; you can withdraw by not submitting a urine sample. If you download a pathology form and 13 HEALTH has not received a result from you after 2 weeks, Webtest will send an SMS reminder to submit a urine sample. You can still choose not to test or wait until another time to test. However, any information you enter in the online form or have discussed with 13 HEALTH staff cannot be removed from the database.

If you change your mind about using Webtest, you don't need to do anything more.

If the test is done less than 2 weeks after sex without a condom or the condom broke, the test may not be able to detect an infection and you will need to retest. In rare cases there may be problems with the test sample which could mean you may need to do a retest.

Webtest will contact you with your test results. If chlamydia or gonorrhoea is detected in the urine sample, a 13 HEALTH staff member will call you to explain options for treatments and telling sexual partners that they should be tested. If the result is negative, Webtest will send an SMS or email to let you know.
