Exemptions

If you’ve been in an interstate COVID-19 hotspot in the last 14 days, you can only enter Queensland for a purpose permitted under the Border restrictions Direction.

Exemptions will only be granted in extreme exceptional circumstances and every exemption request is unique.

If you need to apply for an exemption:

  • apply as soon as possible
  • it may take several days to provide a response, particularly if your request is complex or we have a large number of exemption requests.
