Restricting cruise ships from entering Queensland waters Direction

The operator of a cruise ship from another country must not allow the ship to enter Queensland waters unless permitted by Commonwealth Biosecurity laws.

What does this mean

  • No cruise ships from other countries can enter Queensland waters, unless they have been given permission to enter under Australian law
  • A cruise ship is a sea-going vessel that sleeps 100 or more paying passengers from the general public
