The objectives of the Grants Program are to:

- grow and bolster state and national partnerships to advance health and wellbeing initiatives
- generate evidence-based and innovative ideas to improve the health and wellbeing of infants, children and young people, with a particular focus on addressing health inequities and obesity prevention and population-level impact
- leverage existing knowledge that has high potential to influence health and wellbeing promotion and/or practice, and lead to improved, sustainable and equitable health and wellbeing outcomes, and
- support initiatives and projects to address local needs and support health and wellbeing within the community.
