Indigenous Business Month

About Indigenous Business Month

Indigenous Business Month 2023 shines a light on the growing number of successful Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-owned businesses across Australia.

The Queensland Government supports Indigenous Business Month and recognises the power of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ contribution to Queensland’s economy, showcasing the powerhouse businesses employing, creating, innovating and getting on with business across the state.

Gathering is at the heart of building relationships, and this year’s theme To Gather, Together calls upon First Nations businesses to gather, share and celebrate the power of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ contribution. The theme aims to inspire the next generation of First Nations business leaders and allies to act today, increasing demand for goods and services supplied by First Nations businesses.

Queensland’s strong and diverse First Nations’ business sector is critical to local, regional and the state economies; the employment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and creating a future where every Queenslander can thrive.

Through collaborative partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned businesses and industry stakeholders, Queensland continues to drive the growth of the sector and demand for goods and services from First Nations businesses.
