Indigenous Business Month

Indigenous Business Month shines a light on the growing ranks of successful Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses across Queensland.

This year’s theme is Powering the Indigenous Economy. It acknowledges the power of the Indigenous contribution to Queensland’s economy, and showcases the powerhouse businesses that are employing, creating, disrupting, and getting on with business across the country.

Queensland’s strong and diverse Indigenous business sector is critical to local, regional and the State economies; the employment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; and self-determination.

Through collaborative partnerships with Indigenous businesses, Industry stakeholders and other governments, the Queensland Government continues to drive the growth of the Indigenous business sector and demand for their goods and services.

Indigenous Business Month 2021 brings a number of activities, including: ‘How to develop a capability statement for your business’ and ‘Meet The Buyer’ webinars and regional activities such as Connecting with buyers in the Resource sector in Roma, Networking events and Artisan markets in Toowoomba, Market stalls in Mount Isa, and a Business networking event for Indigenous women in Townsville.

You can also engage the Indigenous business sector through Black Coffee meet ups in Ipswich, Toowoomba and Mackay.

The Indigenous Business Month events calendar for official event listings will open soon.
