Australian Litter Measure (AusLM) field manual

The Australian Litter Measure (AusLM) provides a transparent, consistent, and simple approach to measuring the extent of litter in the environment. It is designed to be used in official litter monitoring programs but can also be used by groups such as local governments or citizen scientists who want to better understand the extent of litter at sites of interest to them.

The field manual (PDF, 8.5 MB) is a step-by-step guide to implementing the AusLM model and understanding the role of the litter surveyor in a litter monitoring program.

To request more information about the AusLM contact LIDPrograms@des.qld.gov.au

Outdoor signage

Outdoor signage is provided in two sizes. The large signs can be printed to a maximum of 2m x 1.2m; and the small signs to a maximum of 1.5m x 0.9m.

Signs can be provided without images to allow specific images to be inserted (design software will be required for this). To request these templates, email: LIDPrograms@des.qld.gov.au

Posters

Posters (set to print at A3 size) are designed to create greater community awareness of your litter prevention program. Posters can be displayed in public areas including littering hotspots, local businesses, tourist information centres, nature reserves, carparks, community events, or at any other location that can promote the message of working together to help keep Queensland clean.
