COVID-19 assistance for tourism lease, licence and permit holders
In response to the impact of COVID-19 (coronavirus), the Queensland Government is providing rent relief for holders of tourism leases, licences and permits to occupy on state land.
Rent for eligible tourism lessees, licensees and permit holders that is payable for the period 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022 has been automatically deferred for payment until 1 July 2022. No further action is required.
Payment of rent for this period will now be due on 1 July 2022.
Tourism leases, licences or permits to occupy are eligible for a rent deferral if they are currently operating under their lease, licence or permit.
The following are not eligible for a rent deferral:
- leases, licences or permits that are held by a federal, state or local government entity, or a statutory authority or government-owned corporation
- leases, licences or permits that are undeveloped or not operational as at the date of the Rent Deferral (COVID-19 Emergency Response) Notice (No. 01) 2021.
