Rural animal safety

Queensland is home to many wild—and potentially dangerous—animals. Stay safe by

  • always being aware of where you are placing your feet
  • checking before putting your hands or feet under logs, rocks, hollows, crevices or debris
  • wearing boots and trousers to protect from animal bites
  • no handling injured animals
  • carrying a torch when walking at night
  • knowing appropriate first aid for treating snake bites.
