Education Queensland International programs

As part of the Queensland Department of Education and Training, Education Queensland International (EQI) has extensive experience developing international student programs in Queensland Government schools.

EQI study options:

Queensland Government schools also host short-term study tours for groups of overseas students wishing to enrich their educational and cultural experience. Students have the opportunity to enhance their English language skills and academic capabilities by studying alongside their school buddies in a Queensland classroom environment.

Independent school programs

Non-government, or independent, schools also offer programs to international students who want to study in Queensland.

Student visas and health cover

International students require a student visa and health cover to study in Australia for more than 12 weeks.

Migrant support in schools

All Queensland Government schools offer English language support to students who don’t speak English as their first language.

The support can help improve students’ English proficiency and ability to actively participate in learning.

Designated schools can provide intensive English language support to students with low levels of English on arrival in Queensland.
