Complaints and feedback

To make a complaint or provide feedback about your institute or teacher you should contact your education provider.

The complaints process for schools, TAFE, private registered training organisations (RTOs) and university or higher education providers vary as outlined below:

Schools

The Department of Education Complaints Management procedure applies to complaints about Queensland Government schools and the services provided to students through them.

Students studying at a Queensland Government school on an individual student visa can also follow the Education Queensland International complaints and appeals process.

TAFE Queensland

Registered training organisations (RTOs)

If you are studying with a private RTO you can contact the Overseas Students Ombudsman to investigate your complaint.

Universities and higher education providers

Each university or higher education provider has its own complaints handling process. Contact your university to find out how to lodge a complaint. You can also contact the Overseas Students Ombudsman.

Certain types of complaint may be dealt with by the Tertiary Education Quality Standards Agency (TEQSA), a Government body that regulates the higher education sector. Find more about lodging a complaint through TEQSA.
