Changing or completing your apprenticeship or traineeship

Changes to your apprenticeship or traineeship

To change your apprenticeship or traineeship you will need to make changes to your training contract.

These may include changing details of your training contract such as your employer, supervising registered training organisation (SRTO), mode or qualification, extending your probationary period or training contract or suspending the apprenticeship or traineeship.

Contract changes are always lodged with your Australian Apprenticeship Support Network provider or the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training. The form used to make the change will have details of who to send it to.

Complete your apprenticeship or traineeship

All apprenticeships and traineeships in Queensland are competency-based. This means that you progress through them as you attain skills and knowledge rather than studying for a set amount of time.

When it is agreed, between you, your employer and your SRTO, that you have completed all the requirements of your training plan, you can start the completion process.
