Search the records

Indexes are lists of names and other information that we have transcribed from archival records. You can find records by searching our indexes or the catalogue. If you know the name of the person you are looking for, then you can try an initial search by selecting one of the indexes below and typing the person’s name and other relevant information (if you have it) under ‘Search by’.

If you can’t find what you’re looking for using our index search (not all of our records are indexed), then you can do a more comprehensive search by searching for a word or phrase in our catalogue. For tips on how to use our catalogue, please view the ArchivesSearch Help Guide (PDF, 2.9MB).
